CamperKing's Assistant Head of Brand, Aaron Manton, completed his very first Half Iron Man on Sunday 19th June to help raise funds for Oscar's Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity.
Aaron successfully completed his Stafford 70.3 Ironman alongside his friend Christian to fundraise for CamperKing's chosen charity, Oscar's, which helped raised £500.
CamperKing loaned Aaron and Christian a VW campervan to use during the race and store their kit from the challenge.
The Stafford 70.3 Ironman required participants to swim for 2.1km in open water at Chasewater reservoir (Stafford), complete a 56-mile bike ride out towards Uttoxeter and a half marathon run, 2.5 laps of Stafford town. Take a look at Aaron's individual breakdown from each section of the challenge.
Bike – 3:19:45 (56 miles)
Run – 1:57:15 (13.1 miles)
Total time including transitions – 6:13:56
Donations made towards Oscar's will help support and care for children facing brain tumours, raise awareness and fund new research to drive down diagnosis time, increase survival rate and improve children’s quality of life during and after treatment.
Aaron said: "We're so pleased to have been able to do our bit for charity and raise some money whilst getting to participate in this exciting event alongside my friend, Christian. I'm already looking forward to the next challenge."
After successfully smashing his fundraising target, Aaron is continuing to accept funds for completing his challenge through his Just Giving page.
