With the camping season fast approaching, many people will be looking to realise their dream, and purchase their first campervan.
Whilst buying the campervan itself is an extremely exciting adventure, you’ll want to make sure that you have the correct gear secured for your first trip away. So to answer the big question, ‘what essentials do you need to buy when you get your first campervan?’, we’ve asked our trusted Club CamperKing members, a team of 2000+ knowledgeable and experienced campervanners, and they provided us with some expert answers.
Let’s start off with the obvious, you’ll want to make use of the hob in your CamperKing campervan, but you need something to put on top of them!
It’s important to stay organised when you’re travelling, so making sure that you have a solid formula/stacking system for different pots and pans. A must have for all campervan lovers would surely be a kettle, accompanied with some mugs. For those cold wet journeys, watching the sun rise over a glorious campsite, or if you just fancy a brew, you’ve got to make sure you’re stocked up with the correct kitchenware.
It’s no fun staying away if you’re not comfortable at night!
Evening times will prove to be nice and snug in your CamperKing campervan, especially with our trusty diesel heater keeping things toasty through the colder weeks. Ensuring you have a good set of bedding and mattress topper will make the world of difference for yourself and whoever else is in the campervan.
There’s no nice way to put this, you’re going to need a loo.
If you find yourself out on an adventure, cycling through the woods, at the beach or just sleeping in your campervan away from a campsite, having something of use is definitely an essential. Whether it’s a Porta Potti or a collapsible toilet, don’t let yourself get stranded without!
This may come with experience when using the campervans, but making use of the space in in-built storage cupboards is much handier than stacking your belongings up to the roof of the camper. It’s also a nightmare to unpack every time you stay somewhere!
The final thing that you can never afford to go without on an adventure…
A bottle opener!
You don’t want to get stuck watching the sunrise and unable to crack open a nice cold drink!
