Our newest model, the CamperKing Pursuit is already making waves across the campervan market, and now it's making waves of the literal kind as the official training support vehicle for a team that will be rowing the Atlantic Ocean for charity.
Last week, CamperKing joined our Authorised Dealer, Dolphin Motorhomes for the launch of our joint sponsorship of the Mermaid Atlantic rowing team at the largest sailing regatta of its kind in the world, Cowes Week.
Taking place annually in August on the Isle of Wight, Cowes Week is not only the largest sailing regatta of its kind, but it's also one of the longest-running regular regattas in the world too. The week-long event features 40 daily races, over 500 boats, over 2500 competitors, and this year, in addition to all of this, it also featured a CamperKing Pursuit!
We had a CamperKing Pursuit 2 at Cowes Week in support of Mermaid Atlantic as they unveiled the boat they will be using to row the Atlantic, at an event at Northwood House during the centuries-old regatta.
Together with our CamperKing Authorised Dealer, Dolphin Motorhomes and our suppliers, Quayside Upholstery and Front Runner, we are sponsoring the team as they undertake the Talisker Atlantic Challenge later this year, an event that is notoriously billed as 'The World's Toughest Row Atlantic Challenge'. This is a challenge that will see the team setting off from La Gomera in the Canary Islands and racing across 3000 nautical miles in a bid to reach Antigua in the Caribbean in the fastest time, and raise money for their chosen charities, The Seahorse Trust, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, and Surfers Against Sewage.
The Mermaid Atlantic team comprising Isle of Wight locals, Xavier Baker, Paul Berry, and Chris Mannion, will face a test in strength, endurance and character as they compete against more than 30 teams and spend upwards of 35 days rowing to reach their destination. The current 3 man record face is held by a team called Dark Trio, who in January 2023 crossed the line in 35 days, 1 hour and 33 minutes. A very impressive achievement, and a goal the team will be attempting to beat.

As part of our sponsorship of the team, the CamperKing Pursuit 2 will serve as the official training support vehicle for the team, and CamperKing's logo joins Dolphin Motorhome's logo on the side of the very vessel which will be used to cross the Atlantic.
