We're pleased to announce active Club CamperKing member Sonya Mclean joins as our latest Club CamperKing Ambassador.
Based in Hampshire, Sonya and her husband Lee bought their CamperKing, which they named Beauty, in early 2020 following struggles with a work-life balance and managing to regularly bring the family together.
The Mcleans were very grateful to have bought their campervan just before the Covid pandemic restrictions took effect, allowing them to visit the outdoors safely while respecting the Government restrictions.
The couple use the campervan for both leisure and business. Lee uses it every day to commute to work at Hampshire Police, but as a couple, Sonya and Lee mainly use the campervan for family holidays, both local and further afield.
They regularly visit local beauty spots such as the New Forest with their springer spaniel Rosie and their twin boys, Archie and Logyn. As a family, they try to camp at least once a month which they can organise alongside their hobbies; paddle boarding and fishing.
Sonya’s most memorable trip so far has been visiting Scotland where they travelled through the Highlands into Glencoe, using the drone to capture photos of the beautiful mountains. They also enjoyed other trips to Brighton and the Brecon Beacons.
We asked Sonya what impact owning a CamperKing has had on her and her family's life;
She said: "In more ways than we can explain. Our family is able to enjoy quality time together, play board games and card games so the boys are pulled away from their PlayStations."
"For Lee’s mental health it has saved him, to be honest. He can take the van fishing for the day to just have time to chill and reflect. We find the van an escape from everyday challenges and stresses. For your physical and mental health this is the prescription any GP should issue their patient."
