Day one highlights at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show
With over 400 exhibitors in attendance the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show got off to a flying start on Tuesday as thousands of visitors descended on the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
It's the largest leisure industry show in the country and it also marks the first occasion that CamperKing has campervans available to see in the exhibition halls.
By visiting stands 4150 (Vango) and 2000 (The Caravan and Motorhome Club) you can see both a Le Mans campervan and a long wheelbase St Tropez campervan on display.
Day one of the event saw dozens of interested members of the public crowding around both vehicles, with questions about the campervans ranging from their engine power to their towing capacity.
The show was officially opened at 10am by broadcaster and President of the Camping and Caravanning Club Julia Bradbury, known for her many television series about walking and the outdoors.
Other highlights included chats in the Inspiration Theatre with Martin Dorey, campervanner and author of the Take the Slow Road series of travel guides. Martin is also the brains behind the '2-Minute Beach Clean' movement.
Other reasons to make a bee-line for the show include the chance to try your hand at canoeing or stand-up paddleboarding at the watersports pool, or to have a go at virtual caravan manoeuvring (also on stand 2000 with The Caravan and Motorhome Club).
Vango, one of the UK's largest tent, awning and camping accessory manufacturers, is occupying stand 4150, showing off a large selection of its products in the Camping Zone. CamperKing works closely with Vango on a number of projects, but principally retails some of its key drive-away awnings. Other manufacturers close to the stand include Coleman, Outwell, Outdoor Revolution and Khyam.
Meanwhile, The Caravan and Motorhome Club is one of the two key membership clubs for campers in the UK, offering thousands of campsites up and down the country, as well as a host of membership benefits. CamperKing works alongside the CAMC to offer partnership discounts to Club CamperKing members as well as camping opportunities throughout the year. The CAMC stand is close to exhibitors including Truma and Powrtouch, Oyster and CRiS.
Wednesday's highlights will include Strictly Come Dancing winner and wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin in the Inspiration Theatre, chatting about his life behind the lens and his favourite places in the UK to nature-watch.
