Club CamperKing member Rich Ivins has successfully completed an epic cycle challenge across the French Alps that saw him raise  more than £8,500 for charity.

Back in February CamperKing donated a campervan rental as a raffle prize for Rich's epic fundraising cycle ride and we have supported him ever since, most recently helping to host a coffee and cake fundraiser at our Warmington HQ to help Rich get closer to his target.

Rich completed the epic challenge last weekend, so we caught up with him to find out how it went

Rich's cycle ride was a total of 518kms up and down the Western Alps in September as part of #TeamVodafone to raise funds for two worthy charities, The Tusk Trust and The Ocean Cleanup.

His total including the raffle, running the virtual London Marathon, and the CamperKing coffee morning for fellow Banbury Star Cycle Club riders was a huge £8,542, including matched funding from Vodafone.

Rich said: “When I signed up to this epic Alpine challenge I totally underestimated how hard it would be to cycle for five days back-to-back over long distances and massive climbs. Some of the climbing lasted up to three hours. The scenery was phenomenal though!"

All money raised will go to Vodafone Foundation’s Your Planet Fund, which supports the two charities.
