Whether you are travelling to us from further afield to buy a VW campervan, or you have booked in for service work or a habitation check at our HQ, it may be that you are looking for something else to do either before or after your visit to CamperKing. With this in mind, we have taken the feedback of our Club CamperKing members and the local knowledge of our team and put together a list of the top places to go, see and stay around Warmington.
Located just under 5 miles from Banbury, just over 15 miles from Leamington Spa, and under 17 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon, there are plenty of options for things to do around our Warmington HQ - discover our top picks below:
Grab a bite to eat
If you’re feeling peckish, there are some great places to eat in the local area. Here are our top picks:
The Falcon
Warwick Road, Warmington, Banbury OX17 1JJ
Located immediately opposite our HQ, you won’t find anywhere closer to CamperKing to eat than The Falcon. However, we haven’t just included this pub on this list for convenience, we’ve included it because it’s a firm favourite with both our Club CamperKing members and our staff - with several Club CamperKing members mentioning it as a place to visit when at HQ. With a 4.0 rating on Tripadvisor based on 1,034 reviews, it also has plenty of good feedback from others.
Open from 11:30 am and dog-friendly, The Falcon offers a range of British dishes and a number of international flavours. You can expect to find options such as traditional Sunday roasts, baked Camembert, tandoori king prawns, braised shoulder of lamb with minted new potatoes, beer-battered cod and chips, crispy beef salad, and steak, ale and mushroom pie.
In addition to fine food, you will also find an extensive list of spirits, wines and local beers, plus a large open fire for colder days, and two outside terraces bursting with seasonal flora for warmer days. Much like our own HQ, The Falcon also offers outstanding views across the rolling countryside too.
Zushi Japanese Restaurant
12 Parsons Street, Banbury OX16 5LW
Located in Banbury town centre and just a 10-minute drive from CamperKing’s HQ, Zushi offers a delicious range of Japanese and Korean dishes.
Options here include multiple tempuras, sushi, noodles, soup noodles, katsu curry, and Korean BBQ options. Across the menu, you will find all kinds of familiar favourites and some lesser-known but equally as tasty dishes to discover.
Noted for not only its superb food but also its superb service and value for money, Zushi has a 4.5 rating on Trustpilot based on 330 reviews and is in Trustpilot’s top 10 restaurants in Banbury.
Zushi opens from 12pm to 3pm Tuesday to Sunday for lunch, and from 5:30pm to 10pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays for dinner, whilst dinner is available from 5:30pm to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Indian Queen
Stratford Road, Wroxton Heath, Banbury OX15 6HX
If you’re around in the evening and fancy a curry, we recommend The Indian Queen in Wroxton. Around a 10 minute drive away from our HQ, it’s the perfect spot to refuel for your journey home should you be picking your campervan up in the late afternoon/early evening.
Across the menu, you will find fine Indian dishes with seafood, balti, biryani, tandoori, and traditional favourites such as dansak, rogan josh, dupiaza, madras, and korma all available. Whilst if you don’t think any of those options will tickle your tastebuds, you will also be able to choose from roast chicken and chips, scampi and chips, and fish and chips. Whilst if you’re vegan or vegetarian, you will be well catered for here with multiple meat-free menu options available.
Noted for the quality of its food, its service, and its atmosphere, The Indian Queen has a 4.5 rating on Trustpilot based on 335 reviews and is another one of Trustpilot’s top 10 restaurants in Banbury.
The Indian Queen is open for dinner from 5pm to 10pm Monday to Friday.
Venture to a local town
As mentioned above, Banbury, Leamington Spa, and Stratford-upon-Avon are all just a short distance away from our Warmington HQ. Each of these towns has its own merits and a reason to visit.
Banbury
We focused on Banbury heavily when it comes to grabbing a bite to eat but naturally, we should include the town here as it’s so close to HQ. However, there is much more to see and do beyond food in the town. If you’re visiting us, you can be in Banbury town centre in around 10 minutes.
Highlights to see in the town include:
Tooley’s Boatyard - an 18th-century dockyard on the Oxford Canal in the centre of Banbury that is said to be the oldest working dry dockyard in Britain
The Fine Lady and Banbury Cross - Perhaps familiar from the English nursery rhyme “Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross”, both The Fine Lady statue and the Banbury Cross can be found in the town centre. It should be noted, however, that the Banbury Cross isn’t the original one as this likely referred to a cross that was destroyed by Puritans in the 1600s. The current cross still has a lot of history though as it was erected in 1859 to commemorate the marriage of Queen Victoria’s eldest child, Victoria, Princess Royal to Prince Frederick of Prussia.
Spiceball Park - The largest park in Banbury, centrally located within the town, and a great place to go on a sunny day. Also adjacent to the park is the Spiceball Leisure Centre with a swimming pool, courts for hire, and gym facilities.
Leamington Spa
Under half an hour away from us, Leamington Spa is a spa town famous for its Regency architecture, shopping, bars, nightlife, and great places to eat.
Whilst in the town you could check out the great range of high street stores and independent retailers on the Parade and in the town’s shopping centre, The Royal Priors. You could visit the Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum and discover its collection of over 12,000 objects. You could even discover where lawn tennis is reputed to have been developed.
If you’re looking for a nice walk, Jephson Gardens makes a nice place to do so, having won numerous awards from the likes of the English Heritage, the Royal Horticultural Society, and Green Flag.
Restaurants we recommend in Leamington include La Coppola for its Italian cuisine, insta-worthy interior, and oyster bar, Libertine Burger for its amazing array of burgers, and The Fox & Vivian for its locally sourced menu and dog-friendliness.
Stratford-upon-Avon
Famous for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon is a must-visit place if you are in the area.
Shakespeare-related things to do and see include visiting Shakespeare’s Birthplace - the actual house that Shakespeare was born in, which is located in the town centre, visiting Anne Hathaway’s cottage, which is located just outside of the town in Shottery, and seeing a performance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, which is located on the banks of the River Avon.
If you’re after something non-Shakespeare-related to do, we recommend Stratford Butterfly Farm for its beautiful butterflies and other insects, The MAD Museum for inquisitive kids, and Compton Verney for its art exhibitions and stunning grounds.
Go to the Dassett Hills
Burton Dassett Hills Country Park
Southam, Warwickshire, CV47 2AB
Offering spectacular views in all directions, Burton Dassett Hills Country Park is under a 10-minute drive from CamperKing HQ and offers 100 acres of rolling hills, striking landscapes, and a wealth of historical interest. It’s also a favourite of ours at CamperKing and regularly features in our photoshoots.
Explore the Cotswolds
If you’re looking to venture a little bit further out whilst visiting us, the Cotswolds presents an ideal place to do so. Offering the perfect escape into the British countryside, our HQ is located at the very tip of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Our Club CamperKing members suggest Broadway as an ideal destination in the Cotswolds to travel to whilst visiting us. Often referred to as the jewel of the Cotswolds, Broadway is famous for its tower, countryside walks, delicious eateries and honey-coloured Cotswold stone buildings. Broadway can be reached in around 40 minutes from CamperKing HQ.
Get out on the bike
As we are surrounded by stunning countryside, there are plenty of places to take your bike. These places include the slightly testing climbs of Edge Hill and Sunrising Hill, both of which are only a short ride away from us.
Discover a National Trust property

Open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from April to September, Farnborough Hall is a honey-coloured, 18th-century stone house that is surrounded by elegant lakes and perfectly landscaped gardens.
Designed by Sanderson Miller and lived in by the Holbech family since 1684, this Grade I listed house sits in the heart of rural Warwickshire and is just 3 miles away from the CamperKing HQ.
Inside the house, you will find 18th-century plasterwork that depicts natural beauty and wildlife, plus treasures collected by William Holbech during his Grand Tour around Italy.
Upton House
near Banbury, Warwickshire, OX15 6HT
We appreciate that Farnborough Hall has limited opening hours, so if you’re visiting us on a day other than a Wednesday or a Saturday, Upton House is another good shout when it comes to nearby National Trust properties.
A honey-coloured country house with dramatic gardens and a world-renowned art collection, Upton House is just 4.5 miles from our CamperKing HQ.
Built in 1695 by Sir Rushout Cullen, the house is built on the site of the hamlet of Upton, which was destroyed around 1500 when the land was cleared for pasture. After being acquired by Walter Samuel, 2nd Viscount Bearsted who was the heir to the fortune from the Shell oil company, the gardens were transformed by "Kitty" Lloyd Jones around the early 1930s. The house then became their country retreat.
Today, Upton House features beautiful gardens and a fine art collection containing treasures collected by Lord Bearsted, these include rare French and English porcelain, and numerous world-renowned paintings.

And when we say close, we mean close, it’s just a two-minute walk from the campsite. With a farm shop on-site, here you will be able to purchase all kinds of locally produced food and drink such as fudge, jams, chutneys, oils, milk, burgers, beers, lagers, and ciders, plus a range of merchandise.
