CamperKing owner completes second trip to deliver aid to Ukrainian orphans

Following our catch-up last month with Club CamperKing member, David Barrett, we chatted with David and charity co-founder, Emily Roberts, last week during his visit to CamperKing for a vehicle service and habitation check, ahead of his second trip to Poland.

Last month, David travelled in his CamperKing campervan from his home in Milton Keynes to an orphanage on the outskirts of Warsaw that houses over 60 Ukrainian children.

Arranged by the Central Beds Ukraine Appeal with its contacts in Poland, David and his friend Paul Naylor, utilised his CamperKing Monte Carlo campervan to transport aid including clothes, shoes and nappies.

Not only did David drive across Europe to deliver the aid, but he is also fundraising for the orphanage where the proceeds will be distributed to the children who have just arrived from Ukraine with very few possessions.

So far, the charity has successfully managed to raise over £12,000.

The Central Beds Ukraine Appeal was co-founded by Emily and Clophill resident, Kasha Southin, who’s originally from Poland. They started operating out of Kasha’s house with a small team of local volunteers helping to sort and pack donated clothes, which they then drove to a collection centre in London, ready to be transported to refugees in Poland.

David is en route back to the UK and set to arrive home later today (12th April 2022). Keep an eye on our social platforms about his future involvement and fundraising for the Central Beds Ukraine Appeal.
