Q&A: Adam Henson on why he loves his farm's campsite

We caught up with TV presenter and owner of Cotswold Farm Park, Adam Henson, on growing up on the farm, and how he now operates a booming rural business.
Tell us a little more about growing up on the farm...
"Growing up in the Cotswolds, I’ve always enjoyed spending time outdoors, walking on our farm’s rolling hills and heading out to see our rare breed farm animals. It’s a place that I’ve always loved spending time at and over the years it’s been a pleasure to share our piece of the countryside with others heading out on the road with their motorhomes and campervans."
Why did you set up the Farm Park’s pitches?
"Back then, the campsite was nothing more than a grass field with just a portabcabin shower facility…but it’s come a long way since then! In 2017, we began the exciting development of our onsite facilities which included an accessible and fully heated family shower block as well as modern amenities, such as 45 electric hook-up units and wifi."
What are you particularly proud of on the campsite?
"The shower block is heated by air source pumps and we continued to introduce green energy by using our own solar panels to provide most of the power across the site. After hearing so many of our campervan guests mention they wanted to bring their friends and family too, we chose to construct high-quality glamping options to enable them to experience everything that we have to offer here too."
What gives you the most enjoyment when it comes to the campsite?
"It’s brilliant to see guests pitching up here and choosing us for their staycation. It’s always a pleasure to see children and their parents exploring the Farm Park and our wider farmland, just as I did as a young boy."
