WATCH/LISTEN: CamperKing featured on BBC Radio Northampton
CamperKing was featured on BBC Radio Northampton as we helped one of its producers try his hand at camping for the very first time.
Breakfast Show producer Ollie Conopo gave camping a go for the first time, and while he opted for a night under canvas (instead of in a luxurious comfortable warm campervan!) Ollie really enjoyed the experience and is ready to try the campervan next.
Of the campervan, he said: "It looks just like a normal van, but the beauty of it is, it's like a Tardis – there's so much more to it than meets the eye. You could genuinely live in it."
Watch Ollie's full reaction in our behind the scenes video below.
To make sure Ollie's first taste of camping was a memorable one, we worked with The Camping and Caravanning Club, one of the UK's largest national camping organisations, to promote the lifestyle to Ollie and listeners.
Simon McGrath, Head of Communications and External Relations at the Camping and Caravanning Club said: "This is a really important part of what we do, which is just promoting our industry, the sector, our pastime and sharing that passion with people like Ollie."
The broadcast took place at White Mills Marina Camping near Northampton, and was transmitted as part of the Annabel Amos Breakfast Show.
White Mills Marina Camping is a secluded, tree-lined site next to the narrow boat marina of the same name. With great views of the RIver Nene, it's a lovely spot for a first camp. The site belongs to the Certificated Site network of the Camping and Caravanning Club, meaning it's a small site with room for up to five campervans, caravans or motorhomes, and a separate tent camping area.
